Can emacsclient focus an existing frame?
When emacsclient is invoked with the option -c it creates a new frame.
In both Windows and Linux, this frame is a window at the top of the Z-stack and has input focus.
With option -n (non-blocking) the command window in which emacsclient is invoked regains this position but the new Emacs frame only takes one step down the Z-order.... -

Doom emacs dired +ranger not obeying evil-mode
I am using doom emacs and in my init file I have (dired +ranger)
The problem is when I open dired, I cannot press tab to select for example. I have first to toggle off evil-mode. If I do, I lose all doom key bindings.
There should be a work around as in regular dired, I didn't have to toggle off evil mode and doom still working!... -

How do you troubleshoot an .el file not loading even though it's on load-path fi...
I've copied a file to a path that's definitely listed in load-path symbol. But the file doesn't get loaded when running emacs with --debug-init flag.
How would you find out what causes it? It uses straight.el library via Doom emacs macro: -

How can I start a remote lsp server and specify a specific host and port to conn...
I am developing directly on a development container in a container on a (remote) Kubernetes cluster. The container has an ssh-server which means that eglot can start the remote lsp-server through ssh.
Additionally I've set up port-forwarding to forward a port on the local machine to the lsp-server port on the container. In this way eglot can connect to the lsp-server through a port on my localhost....
