The Uptown Acorn

 Thanks so much to all of you who reached out to check on J & I. We are doing just fine.
We left New Orleans at 11:30 am on Saturday morning and traveled to Orange Beach, AL. A drive that would normally 3-3 1/2 hours took 9 hours. Traffic was a nightmare. We finally arrived at our favorite Orange Beach restaurant, Fisher's Upstairs....

 I know. I know. It's August. It's south Louisiana, but it really feels hotter than usual. Global Warming much? When I stepped into my car yesterday, the temperature was 107 degrees. WOW! It was scorching. On duty, I joke that even my sweat is sweating...

 When the petunias finally faded in the front garden pots, I added white vincas, and they have been tolerating the heat of the summer sun so well.
