Candelaria a Municipal, a City and a Town
Candelaria is a municipal on south eastern coast of Tenerife, it is a city, with the
Cathedral (Basilica) being the home of the sculpture of the 'Virgin of Candelaria' the patron of the Canary Islands.
The current Basilica dates back to 1959 the first sanctuary to the 'Virgin of Candelaria' was constructed in 1668, but was out grown with the yearly pilgrimage which takes place every August 15th with pilgrims walking from all parts the Canary Islands... -
