Well, I finally got up the courage and felt strong enough to go out and do a head count of my chickens.
My heart is just broken, y'all.
Last week at this time I had seventeen chickens.

I have been useless today. I've spent most of the whole day in bed, reading. And let me just say that New Yorker fiction often leaves me with that great existential question

I'm also reading a book about a couple who decided to quit the rat race and open a small beach bar/grill restaurant in Anguilla. I am teetering between hating the book, them, and everything about them and, uh...well. That about covers it....
