Beamish Transport Online

I am painfully conscious that I still haven’t migrated these posts onto the museum’s main news pages – but as I write them across a number of weeks, it does still work to post them here, for now!
Looking at the first two weeks of June there is already a lot of material gathering, so here is a brief run-down of what has been taking place…...

The 2026 Festival of Transport, which included Fares Please! and Power from the Past has now been and gone.  We were very lucky with the weather across the May half-term, and the internet is full of lovely images of the transport exhibits that attended...

Here are a few images taken during the event’s Saturday and Sunday days (it also runs to Monday).  The use of the 1950s area is a new feature this year, and has given us an opportunity to spread the exhibits out a little, including the recreated ‘breakdown...

It’s well past mid-May and with a busy latter half of the month anticipated, here is an update for the first half of the month, up to the commencement of the Festival of Transport.
