Going to the beach on a holiday was one of our favorite things to do when our children were younger. To save alittle money, we would always go late in the season which meant "storm season".

One of the darkest places I've ever been is down in a cave. A few years ago, we visited Mammoth Spring Caves. During the tour, once we were deep into the cave, our tour guide turned off his light so we could experience just how dark it was.
While the lights were out you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. I never thought that any other place could ever be so dark until the moment that isolation and discouragement showed up....
