Python for Bioinformatics

I'm still here.  After 10 years on blogger, I don't post much any more for a simple reason:  I don't know what will happen to this content in another 10 or 20 years.  Probably I won't care.
But if I am here and I do care, I know I can find my more recent efforts in my Github repo (all of it is public), or hard disk backups.  I'm sure you can figure out how to find me on github (hint:  same username)....

Once upon a time there was blogger.  And it was good, except that Google would allow you to upload images but not text.  So I put text files relevant to my posts up on Apple's iDisk.  All was good.
Then one year, iDisk was gone.  Hundreds of links went dark, too many for me to imagine fixing them by hand. I  came up with a new plan for future posts:  place files in the Public directory of my Dropbox and link to those.  All was good....

As I wrote in the previous post, I've been working on cryptography, AES and trying to understand a little about Galois fields.  I found this page on the web terrific (part of a book that I hope to get to).
It remains even though it is marked obsolete (thank you).  One cool thing it contains is a graphic method for carrying out multiplication in the Galois field used for AES.  It makes it much easier to understand the mod operation....
