Spotted: DC [Summer] Interns

At 11:45 am on a rainy day in the middle of a staff meeting, one of our interns jumped up and announced that he was late for a lunch meeting and proceeded to run out the door.
Later that afternoon around 1:30 pm I looked for the intern but couldn't find him, I figured he must be back and just elsewhere in the office.  Around 2:00 pm our building alarm started blaring.  Confused, a few of us ran down the stairs to see what...

One of our favorite intern stories of all time involves a drunk, shoeless intern who just wanted a breakfast burrito and to meet the future Speaker of the House - was that too much to ask?

I work for a Congressman and we allow each intern to have a shadow day with the Member, they get to sit in on meetings and go to lunch, basically everything but going to the floor to vote.
Let me paint you this winning moment:
The Congressman is in a meeting with a group from the district, I am sitting behind the boss, and the intern is sitting next to me....

Recently I spotted and heard an intern (with badge displayed, of course) proudly announce to a group in the Cannon tunnel, "I go wherever the Congressman needs me."
Uh huh.
